Controller change, adapt Win7 - BSOD
Hello I need some help with an issue which has put me in a really bad spot.
My knowledge level is not the greatest. I am an engineer, not an IT person.
History:
- Dell T7600 with PERC H310 controller, was working fine.
- The H310 adapter died! (No Dell warranty, bought PC used) Controller also took the HDD with it it seems.
- Lucky: I have a 6 day old Clonezilla image of the complete machine on an external drive.
- Bought new HDD, ripped out dead H310 controller, hooked up to onboard Intel C600 controller.
- After applying the image, PC comes up with an expected BSOD ( 0x0000007B ).
Problem(s):
- Running System Recovery from the Windows options (Launch Startup Repair), or from a Win7 SP1 (same as OS installed), I try to load drivers from a USB drive (drivers have been downloaded directly from Dell and Intel). No OS is found!
- W/o this I cannot go anywhere, try anything else.
Possible solution?:
- I guess I could take the drive out, hook it up to another PC via USB?! Would anyone know what I have to modify to get it going again? I have found some posts regarding changes between AHCI & IDE, not sure if this applies.
Any help, comment, pointer is greatly appreciated!
