    Touchpad and Keyboard freeze

I have a toshiba satellite, and I just recently switched from vista to 7. About half the time I start up my computer the touchpad and keyboard freeze at the login screen, and the rest of time they work fine. External mice and keyboards work fine. This was never an issue with vista, and it only started happening when I switched to windows 7. Any ideas?

Update your system specs. Once we know your hardware we can help isolate and fix the problem.

I assume you already visited the Toshiba website and read this?

    Content Details

And you also downloaded Windows 7 drivers for your laptop?

On the toshiba website it says windows 7 is supported for the M305 in the bottom column second from the left. I am pretty sure I have all the necessary drivers for my computer. Also, like I said the keyboard and touchpad work half the time so I assumed if I didn't have the drivers it wouldn't work ever

What drivers are provided for Windows 7 by Toshiba for your laptop? Did you download all of them and install them, or did you just let Windows find and install the drivers?

I let windows find and install the drivers, but once I started having issues I checked the toshiba website for drivers for my laptop and found that it had installed all the correct drivers. Also, just recently starting up my computer a few times, the monitor failed to display the login screen; It just turned black but I could still hear the login screen noise. Also, one time it messed up my screen resolution and turned of the windows aero graphic effects. Its like all of my drivers fail one at time randomly.

What is your complete model number? Toshiba has quite a few M305s listed.

There are plenty of Windows 7 drivers for your laptop. I would install the chipset driver for starters. Since it controls everything, it could very easily be responsible for the keyboard/mouse problems.

Just select the correct Windows 7 OS to filter the results.
