Asus P8Z77 V LK Intel USB ports weren't working due to bad drivers.

After a lot of research i finally got them to work by uninstalling from device manager
Intel 7 series c216 chipset family 1e2d(but not the 1e26 out of fear of more chances to disable my mouse lol)
and Intel usb 3.0 usb extensible host controller.

Then installed the newer intel usb 3.0 drivers not found on asus website and now those ports are working fine.
Couldn't make them work even with the newer drivers before i manually uninstalled the above 2 things.

Now i get a message from windows flag on bottom right corner that my asmedia usb 3.0 driver controller is not installed and it provides a link to those drivers to download them and install. When i download them i can't install those, but when i go to reinstall the asmedia drivers from asus website it says repair or modify. So i did a repair and i still get the message from the windows flag. I told it that this problem doesn't apply to me and it doesn't show anymore.

Can you guys tell me if i did something wrong or if there's anything i should worry about?
So far all usb ports work no problem :)

Your P8Z77-V LK board has BOTH (a) Intel Z77 chipset drivers for USB 3.0 (four ports) as well as (b) Asmedia drivers for USB 3.0 (two ports). Total of six USB 3.0 ports. This is the same as with my P8Z77-V Pro board.

If you look at Device Manager for USB, do you see something like the following, showing both Asmedia XHCI USB 3.0 and Intel USB 3.0?

You should have update normally your Asmedia USB 3.0 drivers with the original Asus CD provided, then in your bios settings disable the asmedia & usb ports that you do not want using. This to prevents the yellow exclamation marks on devices.

I know this is an old topic, but it still shows up in search engines for those troubleshooting USB 3.0 issues on this motherboard.

I did my own research, and discovered which USB 3.0 ports in the back are connected to the Intel Z77 chipset, and which are connected to the ASMedia chip. When looking at the back of the motherboard, the two ports to the left are Intel, and the two ports to the right (closer to the audio ports) are ASMedia. This motherboard has separate drivers to install for each, and the ASMedia ports can be disabled in the BIOS. The ASMedia ports are a little wonky for legacy support, so don't use them for your keyboard and mouse, or to boot USB flash drives.

I hope this helps someone in the future who's searching for this like I did.
