Driver needed!

I have a Dell Latitude E6400, it says that I need the driver for the system base device? I can't find it? Does it have a different name maybe? I need help, I'm running win 7 home 32 bit, Thank you.

I suspect the "System Base Device", may be the Motherboard Chipset Drivers. They are the basis for the PC working correctly.

Here is the link to the Dell downloads for the E6400. Only use drivers from Dell. In many cases non-Dell drivers will either not work or not work correctly.

Select Windows 7 32 bit and then click on the Chipset. There are multiple drivers listed.

Install all the Recommended drivers, starting with the Intel Chipset Software Installation Utility

What is telling you that you need a driver? When do you see this?

Good point. We are just guessing on what your problem is. More info is needed.

This issue is appearantly on a different machine than what OP system specs state.

Tammysu, follow these 3 steps

1. Click Start button. In the Search programs and files box type msinfo32
2. In search results, under Programs, right click msinfo32.exe then Open
3. Select Components->Problem Devices then copy/paste the result into your next post
