Anyone try the newest ATi Cat 9.1 driver yet on Windows 7?

7 wouldn't uninstall the 8.12 Beta Driver... < Grrrrr >

I thought about it a bit, and the internal conversation went: "Well...I can wipe, reinstall the OS, reconfigure, and re-import in order to update the driver. Or I can run it anyhow. And if it screws up I'd just have to wipe, reinstall the OS...".

Well, chalk up another Victory for Sloth. Though I prefer to call it me ..."intelligently carrying out my self-imposed responsibilities/delusions and testing a Beta release by giving it the maximum opportunity to hose up a choice commonly made my casual users....

Yeah.. I definitely like choice B much better than A.

I ran the 9.12 install (driver only, as Admin) anyhow. Seems to work fine, though I didn't have the chance to really beat up on it any. I'm hoping it'll solve the hard lock issues I've been having while gaming. We shall see.

Hi, not yet will wait a day or two, I just need a bit of peace while everything is normal for once, don't want to have to fix anything for a while.

Really? I chose the path of lazy myself and just installed over the top of it. It actually worked first time. I didn't even need to reboot. I was amazed. I was expecting a bit more of a fight......

Then again, I only had the beta driver installed and not CCC or the install manager. (Thanks to a borked installation by the afore mentioned beta driver.... )

Performance seems to be on par with the beta driver and still better than Cat 8.12. So far, so good.

windows 7, etc

Catalyst/Driver 9.1 causes quake wars: enemy territory to blink wildly when in full screen. Many different ATI settings (triple buffering, etc) and windows 7 beta 1 64-bit compatibility mode options appear to make no difference.

Workaround: run in windows mode.

At least it does work with more than 4gb of ram.

They updated the Opengl driver with this release. They probably broke it

Windows 7 Ultimate Beta x64bit

I've been having trouble with ATI HD3870 drivers

I can get it working but then next day it says there are no ATI Drivers installed with 64 bit but I also have 32 bit Windows 7 Beta on same hard drive and it doesn't loose drivers. I have ATI HD3870 Crossfire video cards installed. Windows default drivers fail to install. I'm going to load 9.1 Vista but I have before. Otherwise I think 7 is fun. Wonder what it will cost to keep it?
