I looked around too, but found nothing.

The Aveo site states that their current driver only works with a UVC device, older devices will not work with that driver.

I did find some older Vista drivers (2007), but the VID&PID did not match. When I looked further they seemed to be the UVC driver.

What OS was on the other laptop? Do you still have the laptop?

I'm not sure exactly if it would work, or how to go about getting the driver from the old laptop.

If you can determine the files associated with the device (maybe in an inf file), you might be able to cobble the pieces together and copy the driver, any pre-requisite software and the .inf file to the Win7 machine.

There's often an install log that would tell you more, but log files often get cleaned up during regular maintenance.

Even if you can find all of the pieces, the driver still might not work on Win7.

It's a very long shot, but if you can't locate the packaged driver, it might... stress might be an option.

I guess I would start by finding the .inf file in by looking at the device properties in Device manager (I forget XP, so the name might be different). The details page of drivers has an inf section and that will tell you the name associated with the driver. If you find it, attach it to a post (paperclip on posting menu) and I'll take a look.

No promises on this, just a big maybe it will work.

edit: just a thought... sometimes the install package is copied to the hard drive, but not always. search C:\ for Aveo or microscope - you might get lucky.

I have the same microscope and just installed the cam driver on win 7 x64. Works fine. If you like, I could make and iso of the cd and upload it, say, as a torrent. Just write me an email jjuulb@hotmail.com.

Sorry for reviving an old thread but you may try this Plugable USB 2.0 USB Microscope | Plugable and get the plug-able viewer.
I just bought a cheap microscope of eBay and the software on the CD did not work with it after doing some google searching I came across a USB microscope that looked exactly like it an this worked
