    MpKsld6133a63 Device & Driver

    Device: MpKsld6133a63
Error: This device is not present, is not working properly, or does not have all its drivers installed. (Code 24)

    Code 24 (off of http://support.microsoft.com/kb/310123):
The device is installed incorrectly. The problem could be a hardware failure, or a new driver might be needed. Devices stay in this state if they have been prepared for removal. After you remove the device, this error disappears. Recommended resolution: Remove the device, and this error should be resolved.

I've tried Googling to find out what the device is, but no luck. Could it be a random flashdrive?

If I double click on "MpKsld6133a63" in the Device Manager, select the "Details" tab in the window that pops up and then select "Problem code" in the dropdown there, a value of "00000018" is displayed. I tried searching that and came up with a bunch of BSOD stuff and a ton of guides on how to update a ton of different drivers; effectively useless.

I'm lost, and am a bit paranoid now (I've noticed a few new little symptoms on my system recently and am hoping it's not about to die...) Any thoughts? Guidance? Do I just ignore it?

If needed, I can supply every category of information from the dropdown menu within the pop-up window that occurs when I double click on "MpKsld6133a63" in the Device Manager, or other information about my system. Thanks.

That should be the Microsoft Security Essential motor engine and it can be let like this or uninstall because at the next update it will recreate a new entry spell nearly the same.

Thanks, glad to hear it's nothing huge! The next program update or the next definitions update? Is there a way to fix it at all? Is it even worth fixing? Thanks.

Engine is the official term huh? Microsoft Security Essentials. I found out just now that I must be running the latest version of MSE by clicking the little drop down arrow next to "? Help" in MSE itself and clicking "Check for software updates" and being taken to a webpage that said to use Windows Update to check for updates concerning MSE, which I did and only found 1 definition update.

I thought I needed to update the actual program manually, but since Windows Update handles it, I guess I don't really need to know when the next version will be released. Thanks though!
