Two unknown drivers are in Device Manager

Machine is an HP Compaq dc7800p Convertible Minitower
Serial Number: CZC8473P94
Product Number: FU291ES
Windows 7 -64bits

In device manager under "Other Deives" there is a yellow ? mark by "PCI Serial port" and PCI simple Communications Controller

The Details tab of PCI Serial Port" reveals that its Device Instance ID is:

Chip: Intel Q35 chipset Serial KT Controller

and the other PCI simple Communications Controller drivers name "Chip: Intel Q35 Chipset HECI Controller"

I cannot find these drivers , and I've installed and/or updated all the ones that I think might apply.

Here are these two drivers.

"Chip: Intel Q35 chipset Serial KT Controller"
"Chip: Intel Q35 Chipset HECI Controller"
I tried to download from HP website but I didn't find.
Does anyone know what the correct drivers are?

It seems a member had a similar problem before and found a solution from the Intel website.

Driver found for PCI Simple Communication Controller

See if that helps you too.

Hi quicqsolution,

From the HP support site:

PCI Simple Communications Controller driver for HP... - HP Enterprise Business Community

Option 1: Download and install "sp38609.exe" from the post marked as solution.
Option 2: If running the .exe still does not work, try a forced/manual installation of the driver.

Sounds like an error message from the installer. Can you see the individual driver files, or they all packaged together? If you can extract them, then you force the driver to upgrade through Device Manager and point it to the right file path.

Just a thought,
Scott
