Slim Drivers says 22 out of date but Manage says 0!

Very recently my Western Digital Hard Disk was found to be failing, and a Samsung equivalent in specification was fitted by the repairer with the contents of the old being cloned to the new.

Today I had an APC_INDEX_MISMATCH BSOD (but at this time I do not wish to pursue that). However, some comments about the net suggested that such crashes could be attributed to out of date drivers. Manage from right click My Computer says there is none out of date, whilst Slim says far morei, including that for an ATI Raedon display adapter fitted less than a year back.

Have I made a mis-assumption that APC_INDEX_MISMATCH BSODs are sometimes caused by out of date drivers? And, if I have not, which results do I believe?

Don't trust Slim Drivers, it often will offer drivers for non-existent hardware and may add unwanted software. I would suggest you go to the Dell support for your model and check for drivers there.

Thanks. I have done just that, but even they recommended one that was older than what I had. Also their system only recognises what was there originally.
