SMBus Controller (or system bus controller) is part of your chipset. This particular bit monitors your system board's temperature and voltage. Programs that read your hardware sensors needs this controller.
Try going to your motherboard's site and get a motherboard/chipset driver for Vista for what ever Windows 7 build you're using (x32/x64). Make sure to restart after installing your motherboard driver.
Cheers!
I had exactly the same problem. Fortunately, this was easily solved by installing the relevant Vista driver. This is the only extra driver that W7 has required, although I have also updated the audio and graphics drivers to the latest Vista WHQL ones without any problems (I like to keep up to date with the latest WHQL drivers for these items).
Hello AFWilms,
Yep, installing the Vista motherboard chipset drivers using compatibilty mode with Vista selected should fix the problem for you.
