I see they have a windows 32bit and 64bit driver, have you tried to install it form the update driver or add printer? Also try as an administrator? Could you explain the method you have tried, and what happens when it won't install? And what version of 7 you are using 32 or 64 . Thanks. Hi thanks for your response

I downloaded the 32bit driver and run the installation removed previous installation rebooted to reinstall with the new win7 version from hp.(printer unplugged), Installation stops with driver failed to install.

I have repeated this several times with the same outcome, my version of windows is 32bit

    Regards

your link is to he 64bit?

I have tried running as admin ;but with the same outcome the error appears after the printer is connected see att:

    Try this:

    • Disconnect the printer
    • Go to Control Panel > Programs and Features, search and uninstall all HP Deskjet F211 series related applications, if any found
    • Click Start
    • Click Devices and Printers on the right pane
    • Click Add a printer
    • Click Add a local printer
    • Choose LPT1: (Printer Port), click Next
    • Choose HP from left pane, HP Deskjet F2100 series from the right pane
    • Follow the instructions on your screen

It should work now. Good luck.

    thanks again for your input,

Ok followed your fix above created another printer f2100 This printer showed a green tick, as soon as i plugged the printer in it created another with yellow exclamation mark see att

    printer driver-capture.png

It then started searching for a driver and software ? the outcome was again a printer that would not work with driver failed.

Oddly the printer with a tick gave me printer setup properties etc when right clicking, the other just gives properties and Troubleshoot? perhaps i've done somthing wrong?

If you go to properties of that grean ticked printer, can you print a test page?

yea did try that but would not printanoying, info on the non working printer is failed or corrupt reg driver entry. if i delete that printer it simply returns when i plug it in . can't figure this
