    Soundmax Problem (big problem)

    Hello everyone

My computer is a Toshiba Satellite U-200.

Yesterday I installed Windows 7 Ultimate.
Everything is working, except for the sound card. the soundcard it's a SoundMax.
I tried installing both drivers, driver for Vista 32bit, and for Xp 32bit. I also tried using mixed: the soundmax program for XP32, and the driver of Vista 32.

    unfortunately nothing is working.

the problem is very strange: winamp and media center works as everything is going fine (no problems are found), but the computer is mute.
The microphone is working perfectly, but of course I can't listen to what I recorded, because the computer is mute.
it's like there are no speakers.Same problem if I use the headphones, there is no sound.
Volume is 100%, Mixer is 100%, and the spectre is working, so the computer feels like it's actually sounding!!!
Is there something I can do?
I can't use the pc without sounds...

Type System Information into the search box at the Start button, it will open window like this, and it will tell you what version and date your Bios is.

Hi, type in Dxdiag into the Start / Start search and programs, and click on Dxdiag, it says what version is installed at the end of the page.

It will also tell you if you are having any issues with display / sound, I hope this helps.

Ok your Bios is from 2006, is there a newer one on the Toshiba site.? and if so Download it and install, just follow all the instructions that come with it.

Check in Windows Update to see if there is anything waiting to download, and say yes if there is, to the request to install.

Also did you go to the SoundMax site and download the latest drivers from there.?

I added to the post above, and 2007 is a newer bios than 2006, anyway it is your decision whether you change it or not, some people don't like to touch it, me, I have no problems
    with changing them.
