SDXC Driver (KB976422) "...not applicable for your computer."

    I have a Dell M6300 with Windows 7 Ultimate x64 SP1.

In order to use SD cards that are larger than 32GB (SDXC) I tried to install the update for Windows 7 for x64-based Systems (KB976422).

I downloded the Windows 7 x64 version (Windows6.1-KB976422-x64.msu) but when I try to install it I get the following message:

"The update is not applicable for your computer."

    What is wrong?

For a Dell computer, recommend you check the Dell driver support website.

It is because you already have the newer files v6.1.7601.17514 dated November 21, 2010. Those are older files....:)

    Thanks NoN,

I was kind of suspecting that it (or a new version) might have been part of the SP1 package but wasn't sure.

So, provided the hardware is capable, I should be able to use SDXC cards, right?

Yes, since you have SP1 with the updated files, you should be able too use SDXC cards...!
