I messed up - Driver signature enforcement

I was trying to get my PS3 controller working with my PC, and followed a tutorial and it told me to disable driver signature enforcement, which I did...and now none of my ports work. my wireless kb/m don't work either.

I know i did something stupid..I just need help. All I got to use is a plug-in keyboard.

Have you checked the device manager? Maybe things are just disabled. Also, you could also reverse whatever steps you took to enable your PS3 controller - uninstall it, whatever you have to do.

You can still navigate to the device manager. Win key -> device manager -> press the TAB key and then you can move around in the device manager.

I got into device manager, under universal serial bus controller, all of em have a yellow question mark sign. when i enter the first one, in device status it says - Windows cannot load the device driver for this hardwre. the driver may be corrupted or missing.

Try uninstalling all of them, then reboot? Just a suggestion.

I need my own disclaimer for my posts.

I agree with Gamer - uninstall all of them, then scan for new hardware. Windows should detect and install the required drivers, replacing the damaged ones. Hopefully everything will be fixed. And, in the future, I'd stay away from whatever hack you found for your PS3 controller!

If anything, it should attempt to reinstall them on the next reboot. I'm not guaranteeing it will work though.

If it was automatically installed when you first installed Windows 7 then it should do the same for that.

Not unless you uninstall it, too. I think your system is hosed. At this point, you should probably try to do a repair action instead of messing around in the device manager.

Agreed, if those do not work (repair, or device manager) then your likely stuck with reinstalling Windows from scratch. :|

We learn from our mistakes, I hope you learned not to do what you did again.
