Disk Boot Failure - Something isn't Right and I cannot figure it out.

Hey Everyone.
First of all I am glad I found this fourm. I have been looking everywhere for a place all about windows 7 and it's problems/solutions.

Right so my problem is that my HDD isn't booting.
To go back to the beginning,

I had an SSD that failed and therefore I had to put the windows 7 on my HDD (500gb). I installed it at my friends house and I booted up perfectly without any problems. As soon as I got home and tried to turn it on. Everything was not right. It would not boot from the HDD. Even though the HDD was the primary boot device, it would skip over it and go for the secondary boot device (CD-DVD ROM).
I have been through BIOS trying to find the problem and it shows that everything is fine and that the HDD is working but for some strange reason it just won't boot from it. I am unsure what is wrong with it.
Like I said, I installed it at my friends house and it all worked perfectly fine. However when I got home and tried to start it, it wouldn't boot from my HDD.

If anyone is able to help me, I will be so thankful to them!

Does this mean that you installed Win7 on the HDD in your PC, and it booted OK ... but when you got home and turned on the same PC, it would not boot?

You could try booting from your Win7 install DVD and running Startup Repair. That should get it booting again.

Ah okay, I will make sure to try this Thank you!
I had plans on buying a new SSD and a new Windows 7 (professional). As the disc, although legal, is not mine. And everytime we use this disk, something seems to go wrong eventually. So I believe getting a new SSD and a new Windows7 may help?
