    Win7 drivers issues

Issue with Win7 and Sound Blaster Audigy2ZS and Platinum sound cards (multi computers) initially didn't work. Resorted to the third party drivers update downloads presented on Creative Labs site. I was put off by trial licensing agreement (Ireland) declaring possible charges (amount unspecified) for using this software may (or may not) follow. Also, warned something to the effect "not adhering to this license agreement "will eventually result in damage to your system." (wish I had thought to copy the exact ominous verbiage). I wanted my sound systems working so I tried going along with it.
Began having problems, and problems... So I purchased ASUS sound card (pro reviews recommended) . Discovered via user reviews they were having all kinds of problems with the drivers ASUS provided for Win7 as well.
I keep reading about compatibility issues via software and drivers over a broad range of peripherals (graphics, sound, etc.) with Windows 7. Figured issues result of older sound card/ newer OS. But Creative Sound Card thread has lots of issues users for newer Creative cards for Win7 as well.
Preparing to dig deeper into the occasional BSOD. Haven't tried my ASUS Xoner card yet. I've been pondering these issues for quite a while with no sure cure found. Life is to short to continue throwing away these hours...
