Windows 7: "You don't have sufficient security privileges..."

"You don't have sufficient security privileges..."

OK. Can some ohne sort out what I'm missing here?

I'm trying to update some device drivers after moving from XP 64 to Windows 7 64. When I try, I get the following message (which you no doubt know of):

"You do not have sufficient security privileges to install hardware on this computer. Contact your site administrator, or logout and log in again as an administrator and try again."

Now, this is a home computer. It has only one user -- me -- and I am listed as the Administrator. There is no one else. It says "administrator" under my name. I am logged in and I am the administrator. There is no other way to log in as an administrator. I've been looking but I can't see how to get around this.

Can someone help?

These "security" aspects of Windows consistently drive me crazy. Usually it just an annoyance, now it is a big PITA. Thanks.

By the way, from Vista onward you have to right click most things and click run as admin to get full control of programs(hence your message id say),Brink has a tutorial for setting them to run in admin though.

I have the same problem plus it is complicated by the fact I don't have the option to "run as administrator" when I right click the file.
