Intel WIFI 5100 AGN draft N speed lost Hi,
upgrading from Vista 32 to Windows 7 32, I've lost wifi speed of 300Mbps.
Notebook Vaio AW11Z/B, Router Billion 7402NX draft N, 5100 driver updated with the Intel revision for Windows 7.
The speed is about 130Mbps insted of 300Mbps, but in Vista it was working at 300Mbps.
Any suggestion on that ?
Thanks. | My System Specs |

Thanks. Hi and welcome to sevenforums
either a driver, or IPv6. if you arent using homegroup you should disable IPv6 in sharing and networking.

I had a similer issue on one of my laptops.
In Device Manager/Network adapters see whether 2.4GHz is enabled or not under the Advanced tab. If it is disabled, try enabling. As I recall, the Intel Windows 7 drivers for the 5100 in my Mini 10 default to 2.4GHz disabled. One click and speeds were back to 300 Mbps. | My System Specs | | System Manufacturer/Model Number Dell: XPS 420, XPS 420, XPS M1330, XPS M1330, Mini 9, Mini 10v OS Windows 7 RTM (TechNet), XP Pro x64, Vista x64, Ubuntu CPU Q6600, Q6700, T7500, T7500, N270, N270 Motherboard Dell Memory 4GB, 8GB, 4GB, 4GB, 2GB, 2GB Graphics Card ATI, nVidia, nVidia, nVidia, Intel, Intel Monitor(s) Displays Dell 2408WFP Keyboard Logitech Wave Hard Drives A drawer full. Super !
it was the 2.4 Ghz, it was set to "Only 20 Mhz", now I've set it to "Auto" and the speed went up at 300 Mbps again.
I have a much better access and response to all internet sites too (probably there were problems due to net conflicts generated by the above wifi setup).
Thanks for the prompt and usefull suggestion. | My System Specs | | Intel WIFI 5100 AGN draft N speed lost problems? All times are GMT -5. The time now is 11:47 AM. | |
