Need help extracting drivers from HP provided disc

    Hi all,

So long story short I purchased an hp dv7 about 4 years ago and the hard drive crashed the other day. I purchased a new hard drive and installed Windows. However after the installation was finished I found myself at my desk to with no drivers or ability to connect to the Internet

I have the disk provided by hp when I first purchased the laptop that contains the drivers, but when I go into device manager and direct them to the cd, it says cannot be found. There is also no executable in the files of the cd.

I am running Windows 7 ultimate.

Hopefully someone can help me out!

One option is to connect to the internet using a wired connection, and then run Windows Update -- it should find the bulk of the drivers required.

There are tons of folders so I'm not sure what specifically you're looking for. When first entering the cd there are two folders named FLIST and fupdate and then a Windows command file named PATCH.

I can post a screen shot if you'd like I just need to boot up another computer

How about going to the HP website. Download the needed Ethernet & WiFi drivers to your other computer and then copy them to a USB Flash drive stick. Then plug that into the HP dv7 and install the drivers.
