Device Manager - Other Devices - Universal Serial Bus (USB) Controller

There is a yellow triangle next to this device. When I ask Windows to install or update the driver, it reponds with "Windows could not find driver software for your device. ..."

When I right click on the device and then click Properties / Hardware IDs this is what I see

    PCI\VEN_1106&DEV_3432&SUBSYS_50071458&REV_03
    PCI\VEN_1106&DEV_3432&SUBSYS_50071458
    PCI\VEN_1106&DEV_3432&CC_0C0330
    PCI\VEN_1106&DEV_3432&CC_0C03

When I click on Compatible IDs I see this:

    PCI\VEN_1106&DEV_3432&REV_03
    PCI\VEN_1106&DEV_3432
    PCI\VEN_1106&CC_0C0330
    PCI\VEN_1106&CC_0C03
    PCI\VEN_1106
    PCI\CC_0C0330
    PCI\CC_0C03

    The location information is PCI\VEN_1106&DEV_3432&REV_03
    PCI\VEN_1106&DEV_3432
    PCI\VEN_1106&CC_0C0330
    PCI\VEN_1106&CC_0C03
    PCI\VEN_1106
    PCI\CC_0C0330
    PCI\CC_0C03

    The location information is PCI\VEN_1106&DEV_3432&REV_03
    PCI\VEN_1106&DEV_3432
    PCI\VEN_1106&CC_0C0330
    PCI\VEN_1106&CC_0C03
    PCI\VEN_1106
    PCI\CC_0C0330
    PCI\CC_0C03

The location information is PCI bus 3, device 0, function 0

Physical Device Object name is \Device\NTPNP_PCI0017

How can I make the yellow triangle go away?

    Welcome to the forum.

    What motherboard are you using?

From the information you have provided, it appears that you need the driver for USB 3.0 provided by VIA.

I would check the web site of the motherboard manufacturer or your motherboard install disk.

My motherboard is a Gigabyte Z77X-UD3H. I have the install disk which has this number on it: 12DC1-10IH77S-120AR.

Sorry to be a bit slow. I don't do this very often.

I downloaded the file VIA USB 3.0 Driver version 6.1.7600.2108, size 15.22 MB, date 2013/08/22. It was a zipped file, so I extracted it. Now I have a folder entitled VIAUSB3 that contains many files. There is one entitled Usetup. When I hover the mouse over it, the description includes the phrase "Setup Launcher."

Is this the file I should execute in order to install the driver?

I used the Usetup executable. Problem solved.

    Thanks so much, Maxie!
