Don't bother with VMs. I have been using Vuescan since my first post and it works flawlessly on Win 7 x64 since I installed it. It's better than the original canon driver.

That's for x64 of course since the driver MiloDC works for 32 bit

If MiloDC is still active on this forum, would you mind reposting the driver for the Canoscan N1220U. The link previously posted is now a dead end. Alternately, if anyone has the driver available, could you make it available.

Sorry, I'm a little late to this party. Just got the scanner out of hibernation for a project.

    Thanks!

Thanks MiloDC, I now have the updated driver, but how do you get the software to work on the new OS? I've also downloaded Vue Scan, but have not paid for it. Is there a way to get the scanning software to work -- or is there some other free alternative? Thanks!

Just wanted to formally thank MiloDC for the link! It works just fine for me (since I have 32 bit OS). A suggestion for others out there using older scanners (I've gone through this several times myself), I use free software for saving the scans that's been great for me. It's called IrfanView and here's a link to the site to download it - IrfanView - Official Homepage - one of the most popular viewers worldwide It's been very useful software for me and I hope it helps some of you too!

Still works after all these years!

I had looked for a driver for my CanoScan N1220U several years ago and needed it again after a rebuild. And it still works!

    Thank you so much!
