Separate hard drive, or partition on a single hard drive?

Agreed, should never store data/files to that partition. It usually contains the files necessary to do the Factory Restore, puts the computer back to its as-shipped condition. If there is a warning about low disk space I usually change the Recycle Bin to exclude that partition [right-click and Properties] by setting to a very low number expressed in MB/MegaBytes. 10000MB is about 10GB
