It may not have come with any such software, I've never had to install any when going to a new drive. Have you checked with Seagate or the maker/vendor of the Notebook/Laptop? Basically put, cache is a memory module on the interface board on the drive, holds data temporarily while writing to the disk/s.

according to this post, Acer uses expresscache.. but when i install expresscache it works flawlessly speeding up system boot time... but slowly the cache starts to fill up and at one point it flushes everything in the SSD and starts to write it again.. and the system becomes as slow as hell... when that happens i get blue-screens and the system hangs up.... i'm guessing that i deleted the SSD accidentally when doing a clean install of windows might have somehow made it lose its syncronization with the HDD.

Write Caching
So, it's time I asked a question. I've got this awesome little 7eeePC you've probably read about as I babble on about it like a schoolgirl in many of my posts and I'd like to show of it's WEI score to convince folks it's not quite as castrated as some have insinuated. Only, the machine will not...

Write caching
Ok, so my hard drive in ACHI mode does not allow me to enable write caching but in compatibility mode it does. Should I enable write caching? Also this whole thing about memory loss is bugging me on what they are talking about. I have a laptop with a battery and mostly has power. But what if...
