    what caching software does seagate use


    hey there my laptop came with a seagate hybrid hard drive which has 20GB SSD... recently i did a clean install of windows but now i can't seem to figure out what caching software came with the seagate hybrid drive.. any help would be appreciated.. thanks!

    It may not have come with any such software, I've never had to install any when going to a new drive. Have you checked with Seagate or the maker/vendor of the Notebook/Laptop? Basically put, cache is a memory module on the interface board on the drive, holds data temporarily while writing to the disk/s.

    according to this post, Acer uses expresscache.. but when i install expresscache it works flawlessly speeding up system boot time... but slowly the cache starts to fill up and at one point it flushes everything in the SSD and starts to write it again.. and the system becomes as slow as hell... when that happens i get blue-screens and the system hangs up.... i'm guessing that i deleted the SSD accidentally when doing a clean install of windows might have somehow made it lose its syncronization with the HDD.

    okay i take it back.. it isn't a hybrid drive....

    okay i ran cfdisk command on ubuntu live after removing the hdd... and this is when i get..

    when there is no HDD



    and the BIOS shows this:
