W7 compatible driver for CanoScan Lide 35

My original CD that came with the CanoScan Lide 35 scanner is not recognized by Windows 7 on my new PC. I have attempted to download the latest available drivers for the scanner, but they do not work. With W7 so new will a new driver be available soon? Other solution?

There's a Windows 7 driver on the USA Canon site:

Photo Scanners - Color Image Scanner - CanoScan LiDE 35 - Canon USA Consumer Products

Exactly what doesn't work with the Windows 7 driver provided by Canon?

W7 compatible driver for CanoScan Lide 35

I downloaded 1) the Twain driver, 2) the Toolbox 4.5.1.2, and 3) the recommended driver called deldrvwin. They drop into a "download" file where I then install. I have done this about three times.

During the installation of the Toolbox driver, I get a message from Program Compatibility Assistant that states "This program may not have installed correctly".

When I attempt to scan using the Canoscan Toolbox, I get a message "Specifies the program where the scanned image is transferred". I have no idea what this means.

DelDrv is an application that removes Canon drivers. You don't want to use that.

Install the twain driver, and then install the toolbox.

I installed the Twain driver and the Tollbox without the deldrvwin driver, and I did not get the message "This program may not have installed correctly". However, I still am getting the message "Specifies the program where the scanned image is transferred", and nothing will run.

Do you have 32 bit or 64 bit Windows 7?

You don't like google, do you?
I found this in 30 seconds:

Canon Lide 35 - Vista Forums

And stop trying to install a 32 bit driver in a 64 bit OS. This won't work until the hell freezes.

Hi, I have tried to install the vista 64 driver onto my Win7 64 bit machine (obtained from the canadian site via google). And have exactly the same problem.

    Any more ideas out there?

This is the only outstanding task in the migration from XP to Win7, everything else went like clockwork.
