After Installing Win7 - Optical Drives Not Appearing
I have three optical drives, two internal (Sony, Toshiba) and one USB external (Sony). All three drives worked flawlessly under Vista, Vista SP1, and Vista SP2. After installing Windows 7 none of the three optical drives appear under "Computer."
The drives are recognized in my system BIOS. And my IDE controller acknowledges the drives on Boot.
Windows sees the drives in the Device Manager, but puts the yellow icon next to each. Details for each drive say the same thing the drive "has been disabled because of compatibility issues with Windows (Code 48)." Driver details for each say the same thing "up to date."
I tried updating the drivers anyway, and there was no change.
I tried uninstalling the drives and rebooting so the OS could reload the drivers, and there was no change.
I tried running the troubleshooter and it could not fix the problem saying the drives "have plug and play issues."
Please help! Thanks.
