Questionable files: Driverx.sys

What exactly is driverx.sys? I suspect it is causing problems with one of the users I support, but I need a bit of support myself. Has anyone come across it before?

Apparently driverx.sys is a legacy NT driver developed by a company called Tetradyne Software in support of Windows XP. DriverX is/was typically used to communicate with non-standard hardware devices: in-circuit emulators, custom I/O cards, motion controllers, etc. According to Tetradyne, if you believe that no application on your system is currently using the DriverX driver you can uninstall it.
