    Double Check

Ok, my copy of Windows 7 arrived today (finally!) and I plan on installing it today as well (nothing worth backing up), and I want to double check something. When my Windows 7 is installed, will it keep my wireless driver? I need this to install various other drivers, so it's really important. Also, will my device manager look the same as it does now (except for a few minor things of course), i.e. will it list all of my drivers I have now, but say I need to download them? Sorry for all the repeated questions, I'm just nervous and want to be covered. Oh, and one more thing, will it keep my cd/dvd drive driver? I need that just incase my wireless doesn't work and I need to install the wireless driver. Thanks!

It may or it may not keep your wifi driver. you can download the driver from the mfr web site before you install it just in case

First off, what is your current wireless driver/card and secondly Windows 7 usually runs well straight off the bat from completing the install.

ok, good to know. Another option I was considering was to burn the driver executable files onto a DVD to install later; my problem is that I don't know where these executable files are located on my hard drive. Can someone give me a path please?:)

I would go to the Compaq support website and download Windows 7 drivers (or Vista if no 7 drivers are available) for your computer. Download drivers for all of your hardware. If something doesn't work after you upgrade to Windows 7, you have drivers on hand!

Well, I just backed up my drivers via drivermax, burned them to a cd, so I can reinstall them after the reformat. And compaq's site doesn't have all the drivers, so, yeah. Oh, do I need to uninstall my antivirus (Norton IS 2009) before I custom install?
