Windows 7 drivers for Lexmark 4800 series

Hi guys, I'm new in here, som thanks in advance for your help.
Some months ago I bought a Lexmark 4800 series printer (scanner, fax) that I'm using with a Windows XP laptop, connected via wifi to my home router.
Now I'm trying to do the same with another laptop, this one with Windows 7, but I haven't been able to do it till now. I've even tried with an USB cord, with no success.
    Any help, please?

I've done it from Windows 7 and also with the printer original disc, with the same result (negative).

    Taken from the Lexmark site

Lexmark is in the process of preparing for the launch of the new Microsoft Windows 7 operating system.

Lexmark x4850 Windows 7 driver does not allow install of OCR

Every time I try to scan, the scanning option says I need to install the OCR from the CD Rom. I downloaded the windows 7 driver, v 5/11/2010. S0, there seems to be a problem. Any ideas?

To add to myzr7's excellent advice, Lexmark states this specific to your printer:
    Windows 7 Information
Use Vista Driver in Windows 7

    Upgrading to Windows 7?
Disconnect USB and Uninstall Printer Driver First
