Alienware M11x R2 Bluetooth Device not found, Window 7 Home 64bit

    Hello,

I am not sure if this is the correct location to post this, so if I should post it somewhere else, please let me know.

I am trying to use my bluetooth to connect a ps3 controller. I have successfully been able to do it in the past (I believe the last time was about 1.5-2 years ago). Now when I try to use it, the bluetooth adapter no longer seems to be found. I have looked into updating the drivers but when I run the installation it tells me to enable the bluetooth by using the wireless switch. This switch only affects the wifi and has no effect on bluetooth. When I look in the device manager, there is nothing that seems to show bluetooth. So, I suppose my questions would be, is there away to force an install of a driver? How would I uninstall a current driver to try for a clean install of new drivers? And finally, would all this even point to a driver issue or has my bluetooth hardware just died on me?

Thanks for any help, sorry if there is more information I should post for this that I have failed to mention. Please let me know what is needed, and probably how to get it, I am not necessarily the greatest with all the in depth technical computer know how.

It looks like my Bluetooth service and Bluetooth support service are both started.

I tried installing that Dell 365 Bluetooth Module Application at one point and it said I needed to enable my Bluetooth to continue.

When I run the BTTray.exe that is mentioned in the link you provided, nothing happens. It doesn't show up in the system tray so I can't move on to the next step of activating bluetooth.

Yeah. It is enabled in the BIOS. That is the setup I go by hitting F2 to when I turn on my computer, right?
