still some drivers missing in "Other Devices"

Hi, so im using win7 ultimate on HP all-in-one f319...
    I had issues with missing drivers, then i installed the Network adapter as they told me on this website and the internet started to work...but after 2 major windows updates Im still missing 2 drivers: Sm Bus Controller & Universal Serial Bus (USB) Controller;
I have tried to update driver by automatically searching for them, but it couldnt find them...
what should be the next step?

btw ive only recently installed win7 on this pc which had win8 when i bought it,
    thanks in advance

We need to see the Hardware ID of the missing "other device".

Follow this tutorial and post the Hardware ID here.

    Sm Bus Controller:
    PCI\VEN_1022&DEV_780B&SUBSYS_2AF8103C&REV_16

    Universal Serial Bus (USB) Controller:
    PCI\VEN_1022&DEV_7814&SUBSYS_2AF8103C&REV_09

I'd try downloading one of the HP the 5.12.0.15 driver version shown on this page (with the HP logo on the left side). See if that works. Maybe any AMD SMBus driver installer file will be just as good.

The installer file may simply self-expand into all the folders you need. If you drill down into a \Packages folder you might find \Drivers or similar, where there might be a SETUP.EXE or perhaps just a collection of INF files etc. If the latter, do a "driver update" from Device Manager and point to the sub-folder structure you just self-expanded, to let Windows find the correct INF and do the driver install.

    Universal Serial Bus (USB) Controller:
    PCI\VEN_1022&DEV_7814&SUBSYS_2AF8103C&REV_09
Tougher. You might try the last one on this AMD chipset/USB3.0 driver page, for Win7 x64. No guarantee here. It might be that HP doesn't support Win7 on this model, but give it a try.

Somebody on a Microsoft answers site said the following about this:

"Look in the folders the AMD Chipset Drivers created, mine is C:\AMD\support. Keep drilling down until you get to Packages\Drivers\SBDriver. The drivers you need are under hseries\USB30. When you get the first unknown device installed a second one will appear - driver is in the same folder - poke around, you will find it."

I would think once you run the installer file and it completely self-expands, you can just cancel the rest. Then navigate down to look for the proper SETUP.EXE there, or you can right-click on the unknown device in Device Manager and then select "update drivers", and then say that you "have disk" and navigate to the proper folder and be sure to check the "check sub-folders" option so that the driver install can find the correct INF down from wherever it might be buried.

    You might be successful here.

what are these drivers for exactly? I mean my usb ports seem to work...is it terrible if i just leave these the way they are? maybe some day a windows update will sort it out? whats the worst case scenario?

I thought you posted because you wanted the problem of missing drivers solved?

Do you have support for USB 3.0 working? I would think not, though you may have USB 2.0 working. The AMD Chipset Driver provides support for USB 3.0.

Why not go ahead and install the two drivers I found, which appear to be very likely your missing drivers? Can't hurt, even if they don't find the corresponding hardware you're no worse off than you are now. And they may well complete the final drivers you were missing in your downgrade install of Win7.

    Terrific news.

So now you have no "unknown devices" in Device Manager? You've got that SMBus properly installed, as well as full USB 3.0 and XCHI items all properly installed and operational?

Excellent. Glad to have been a successful detective and been able to help out.
