Gateway Touchpad Scrolling

I have a Gateway NV58 Series with Windows Vista, but I upgraded to Windows 7 Pro. After that I am unable to scroll horizontally or vertically which I was able to do before.

I have downloaded the Synaptics driver, after uninstalling the original driver from Microsoft but still no luck. It says it is working properly under device manager. Also, under Device settings for Synaptic it gives no info for vertical or horizontal scroll. Only Overview, Right/ Left Click,

Any help would be appreciated

Similar problem

I have a Gateway MT6730 Pentium dual core 1.60 GHz that came with Vista. Put in 2 gigs of RAM and installed Windows7 Ultimate. The scroll bar on the touchpad doesn't work. Can't seem to find a way to make it work.

I have been to the support site and down loaded
D20247-001-001.exe
but that didn't do any good as there was no change. Besides, that driver was for Vista.
