Changed Hard Drive in Inspiron N5110, There are Missing Devices

    Hi everyone,

I'm having some trouble with my Inspiron N5110. I recently had to change the hard drive because the old one was fried. So I took the hard drive out and put in a new one, reinstalled windows, and got everything running again, except that when I looked at my devices, there were a few missing ones.

The Ethernet Controller, SM bus and WiFi drivers were not found.

I went to the dell website, and I was able to acquire (I believe) the correct driver for my Wireless card.

I was unable to get the SM Bus or the Ethernet controller to work. I downloaded the Realtek controller recommended by Dell, but it still says that it can't find the driver for my computer.

The problem I have now is that I can't turn my WiFi on. Additionally when I look at the Network card, it doesn't say that there is anything in there.

If anyone has any idea as to what I can do that would be amazing. Thanks in advance for all of your help.

    Hi

Go back to dell support page and download and install the chip set driver. Then try the others that are missing.

Hi Welcome to Seven Forums ... Download the Chipset Driver ... When Installed reboot your Computer ..

Then download the rest of the Drivers you need ...

And also the Dell QuickSet Application ...

    Hi,

I tried downloading all of the chip set drivers that are on the dell website. I can't use the program that was linked because I have no internet connection.

I still have the problem, the missing Drivers again are:

    Ethernet Controller
    PCI Simple Communications Controller
    SM Bus Controller

is there anything else that I can do?
