Win 7 hangs on loading screen after installing drivers for new gpu

i recently had a problem with a previous gpu (gtx 660 ti) and that was replaced and i was sent back a gtx 670 as the replacement, but after i installed the drivers for the card windows wont start it just 'hangs' at the loading screen where the four circles meet and restarts again, i have tried different drivers whether it be the newest drivers or the one on the gigabyte website and nothing seems to work. I have switched pcie slots and it runs in safe mode fine, tried switching the pcie 6 and 8 pin cables...nothing. i have reseated the ram aswell just incase, checked all other cables aswell.

    thanks in advance :)

Well turns out it didnt completely fix it after quite a few hours it bsod a couple of times and now same problem is occuring, but while i was on there a kernel error came up saying driver crashed and successfully restarted or whatever. This was from the near beginning but didnt happen whilst playing games only on desktop
