    Please need help!!!!!

hello everyone and thank you for your help in advance.
THe following message comes up when i try installing windows 7:

Upgrading Windows will affect the following devices and/or programs:

    • These devices might not work properly after the upgrade. Before upgrading, we recommend updating the drivers for these devices. Cancel the upgrade, open Control Panel and search for "update device drivers", or go to the device manufacturer's website to search for updated drivers.

      • Keyboard Filter

    • These programs might not work properly after the upgrade. We recommend uninstalling these programs before upgrading. Cancel the upgrade, open Control Panel, and search for "uninstall a program". (Note: Programs marked as * can be safely reinstalled after the upgrade.)

      • ATI CATALYST Install Manager *
      • ATI Catalyst Control Center *

I Have a Probook 4710s in which i use the inbuild keyboard. Where can i download the drivers for the keyboard filters? and if i cant will it still work properly?

And Ps. will the ati stuff work without having to uninstall it after windows 7 is installed?

You should be able to access your drivers from here.
HP ProBook 4710s Notebook PC- Download drivers and software - HP Business Support Center

To be safe, uninstall the Catalayst Control Centre and manager using cc cleaner
    http://www.softpedia.com/get/Securit...CCleaner.shtml

Then when you have Win7 working download the Windows 7 version here.

I downloaded the latest drivers for the "HP quick launch buttons" but the same message is there:

      • Keyboard Filter
Was there something else that i needed to download?

and with the ati catalyst ones, i have the cds that came with the computer, one is called "application and driver recovery DVD" and it says the disc contains 32-bit software for windows vista..... . Would that disc or any disc i have have the ati software that i can just reinstall, or will i have to re download it from that website?

Try the touchpad driver,i doubt the quick launch ones would have the filter in it.

You could use the Cd,then it would auto update to the newest version anyway:)

Your ATI drivers should be no issue. Win7 should install the correct ones when installing.

Just Uninstall the Entire catalyst suite before starting the upgrade as previously suggested.

My guess is Win 7 will install the others as well, but i cant be sure.

it looks as if Hp has all the drivers youll need at the link Minotar posted.

Just make sure to get the right ones, 32bit it seems..

    If I were you;
i'd download the correct drivers from HP and save them to a USB or disc. And unistall all of the current ones that are conflicting. then proceed with the update.
    (If you can)

Or , do a clean instal.

Almost everyone here recommends a clean install for a fresh start with Win7.

Clean Install with a Upgrade Windows 7 Version

If you boot from the WIn7 DVD to do your clean install, it will see Vista and allow you to insert the Upgrade key. Then select Custom install and use Drive Tools to delete Vista, create new partition(s) as you wish, then format before installing Win7 to first partition.

The installer is mostly driver complete with more arriving in Windows Updates. Any drivers still missing in Device Manager can be found along with favorite apps. on the Support Downloads page for your computer model.

Be sure to back up your files first, gather your program installers/disks as you'll need to reinstall programs. You can also back up the C:windows/system32/drivers file so you'll have all of your Vista drivers in case one is missing later.

IS there just a simple way where i can install it without having to clean install the computer, like just downloading the keybaord thing and leaving the ati centre and management?

    THanks

Sure, follow the steps to upgrade the keyboard filter driver.

Both of the ATI Catalyst items can be uninstalled in Control Panel>Programs and Features. You don't need to add them back later if you don't need any special control panel for your video driver, as Win7 will install the correct driver.
