New driver killed USBs

Hi all,

Thanks in advance for any help. I just did a driver update and now none of my USBs are working, so no keyboard or mouse available. I set a restore point beforehand, but I can't get to it without a mouse. I have a Repair disc, but it's not booting, I'm getting the Autoplay screen.

Suggestions on how to get to the Restore screen without a mouse or keyboard???

Thank you!

Try in safe mode
You can probably get to system restore in safe mode.

Thanks, I did try that already and my USBs didn't work then either. Interestingly, they do work when I'm in BIOs. Which, I assume, is because Windows hasn't booted.

If you get to system restore and go back before the driver update, you should be OK

I know that, but I can't get to system restore without a mouse and my USBs aren't working. Catch-22. Do you know another way of getting to system restore is what I'm asking.

Try the mouse alone, no keyboard and then the keyboard alone, no mouse
in safe mode
Try this way with each usb slot
Do not forget the rear slots

Try the repair disk again and make sure the cd/dvd drive is set to first boot device or use the one time boot option from F12. Still not booting from disk have a friend burn one from his computer but has to be the same vision of windows as yours.

Tried all the USB ports wired and wirelessly; no luck. Did the restart for last known good config. I think Windows seems to think that everything is fine, because it boots up without a problem, so that didn't change anything.

I have TeamViewer but without a mouse or a keyboard to open it how can I give someone my info?
