Belkin Wireless Desktop Network Card F5D7000
Hi,
I recently built a new PC. My old PC was a Dell Dimension 9200 (the specifications of which can be viewed in my profile).
My old PC was Windows 7 32bit. My new PC is Windows 7 64bit.
The new build was mostly new parts, except I was hoping to bring over my wireless network card. This came with my Dell machine and is a Belkin Wireless Desktop Network Card F5D7000.
I've plugged this card into the motherboard and it's being recognised as an attachment, but I believe I'm having trouble with the drivers as the computer isn't showing any wireless networks.
I tried using the Dell network drivers, but got an error saying the hardware wasn't correct (I assume it checks to see if it's a Dell motherboard, which it no longer is).
I also tried using the Version 7 and 8 drivers available here: Official Belkin Support Site | Wireless G Desktop Card F5D7000 v1, v2, v3, v4, v5, v6, v7, v8 - Driver Only Packages (US) I also tried to install them in Windows Vista compatability mode.
Although V7 and V8 seem to install (or at least the wizard finishes and the files are put on my drive), I don't think they are actually functioning as the machine still isn't recognising any wireless networks. The network icon has a red cross through it and the troubleshooting just tells me to attach an Ethernet cable.
Any help with this would be so greatly appreciated!
Thank you.
