My Win7 desktop does not see USB 3.0 devices.

I have 2 USB 3.0 devices. When I plug them into USB 3.0 ports, my PC does not see them. When I plug them into USB 2.0 ports they work, though, I'd guess, a little slower than they were designed to.
I checked BIOS and USB 3.0 is enabled. I have downloaded the latest AMD chipset software release. Device Manager says that my PC's driver software is up to date (Renasas Electronics USB 3.0 Host Controller).
Why does USB 3.0 seem dead on my PC?

You didn't specify which motherboard you have in System Specs.

I guess your Renesas drivers are already installed?

If the USB 3.0 ports you are using are on the front of case, make sure they are connected to the motherboard (USB 3.0 connector). It is possible you don't have front USB 3 even though case has the blue ports.

Try the blue ports that are behind the case and see if they work there.

    GokAy,

Only 2 USB 3.0, both in the back. I've tried both.

I have that with 1 of my USB3 16GB sticks on my front ports (brand is Master) all other USB3 sticks works fine but just not this one, just gave up trying it as it connects buts cannot open it, so only use it on back USB3 or front USB2 ports.

For the sake of diagnosing, does USB 3.0 ports work if you plug in USB 1/2 devices?

    GokAy,

Interesting. I plugged a USB 2 printer into each USB 3 port and it did not work.
Though, when I looked at Devices and Printers, the PC was seeing the printer,
just not feeding a print order to it. The print orders just queued up.

Also USB 3 ports do not see USB 2 flash drives- I tried 2 different ones.

Try, uninstall USB 3.0 drivers from Device Manager and let Windows find them (if it can), if not first try the drivers from motherboard page (although may be outdated). If they work, then reinstall the ones from AMD chipset drivers.
