Where do I find the information re Chipset used on my Laptop
I know, it's probably one of those you should know, but I don't!
I have a ASUS N61JQ Notebook and just recently I had to do a complete reinstall due to a HDD failure. Got some good advice here, about how to get back up and running, seeing the restore disks didn't work. so that's why I'm back
Ok, so why do I want to know what chipset I have? Well I want to make sure I use the correct driver to update them. I've been to both ASUS and another site, (station drivers), and there are a multiple number of drivers available for the N61JQ.
Now normally I would just select a driver that has the latest date, and go with that, but I'm not sure that if I use that approach, and it screws everything up whether I'll be able to revert back to the previous driver or not.
Also if there are later drivers available for my chipset, than exist on the ASUS site, should I consider those, and where would you recommend downloading them from, to insure there are no issues with the drivers?
So as you can see I need some expert guidance please.
Cheers Ron
