    Webcam already in use

    Hi.

My apologies if this has already been addressed before.

Since upgrading from Vista to Win7 x64, I have been having a problem with my webcams (yes plural).

I have a Logitech Communicate STX and a Creative VF0610 Live! Cam Socialize HD. Both work under XP and the Logitech works under Vista. The Creative was purchased after upgrading to Win7 so has not been tested under Vista.

Both have had the latest drivers installed and both are still suffering from the same problem, which is that audio works fine but the video does not function, with a popup being displayed stating that the video is already in use by another application, which it is not.

Both Logitech and Creative's support have been involved, to no avail....... After producing numerous screen shots and dumps, they still think that I am using Vista and still insist on sending me instructions based on XP. To say that I am frustrated would be an undestatement....

So, over to you, any ideas??????????????????

1st delete the drivers for your webcams. Then unistall programs for Webcams. When done plugin webcams and wait for Windows to find the correct driver via the internet. If this don't work for you I'm afraid there might be an incompatibility. Most likely then you will have to check with microsoft to see if they have a solution.
    Best wishes
