    dell c400 audio and wireless network drivers


    Hi:I have a dell c400 and had no problems following video driver issues posted here to fix that particular issue.I have now got an issue with audio and wireless network drivers .i run the install on windows xp drivers i downloaded but windows won't let it take so any ideas would be greatly appreciated.

    can you give us the service number to your pc? without it i'm not sure how much help we can be. this is an older model and the latest dell drivers are for xp so it's likely the reason you haven't found them is because they were never updated.

    No service number on it but its a PP03L dell latitude C400.

    hmmm the best i can tell you is to grab the xp versions from dell's website and see if they will work in compatibility mode. as you are aware the hardware here is pretty dated so we may have to look into other alternatives if that doesn't work.

    please follow this tutorial Driver selection for your Hardware devices.
    If you have any further problems, or can't find a driver, please post back the information found under hardware id's here (for all unknown/not working devices) and I'll see what I can find for you

    Great information given above. Just to add to it in device manager any problem devices will have a yellow triangle next to them. As per the tutorial. Go to device manager>right click the device in question>then properties tab>details tab>drop down menu> select hardware id. Copy and Paste the id string and maybe someone can find a compatible driver for that piece of hardware. good luck. Fabe

    c400 drivers


    Ureka...I found a solution.I installled a pcmcia card for temporary wireless and got internet working then got the W7 update and upon reboot all drivers were installed and working fine....gotta give it to window 7 awesome OS.
