SBRE ROOT\LEGACY_SBRE\0000 ERROR - What and how to fix please!
Hello to all,
Not being as deeply into computing as I once was, I am unable to resolve this issue if it is indeed a problem. Always have gotten munificent assistance in this forum and hoping for a hand.
I have been having several issues on my computer and I found and ran for the first time, System Info > Problem Device. Much to my surprise I was confronted with the Device = SBRE, the PNP Device ID = ROOT\LEGACY_SBRE\0000, Error Code This device is not present, is not working properly, or does not have all it's drivers.
The computer is a homebuilt, this is the second board and processor running W7 Ultimate 64 Bit. It is a
MSI G52-XXXX1HA board and a AMD Phenom II X4 965 Processor. Did some research and got as far as going into the Device Manager, enabling hidden devices and in a list of Non-Plug and Play Devices I found the SBRE entry which shows an alert.
The unknown device is stopped and will not start because of uninstalled software.
Now as to the unknown issues I have that are discomforting and unknown to me as to why or how....
Both Motherboards have shown an inability to identify the SATA Ports consistently. Constant changing their order. C:\ drive becomes #1 and is shown as a secondary drive sometimes with my D:\ Drive showing as the primary or and vice versa.
The second problem is IIRC only occurring with the current board and processor, is that the OS will sometimes boot up to the control/alt/delete prompt and when entered, will not show the accounts and the drive will show intermittent brief drive activity and stay that way. This requires a reset, which advices that Windows shut down incorrectly when restarted and do I want to troubleshoot or run Windows normally. So far and much elementary troubleshooting, I have found that it seems to always function correctly after allowing the start Windows normally option. This issue is most often associated with a restart of some kind except for IIRC forced restarts.
Any assistance or ideas will as always be appreciated!
