Good call on SAS thelma, I forgot about that one. I use that weekly too.

If you watch the video on MBAM in the tutorial linked it will explain a lot and hopefully be of some help to you.

    Hi,
Running ccleaner and sas daily is a bit excessive :/

Drivers well my view is if everything works there's really nothing to fix
There's been a excessive release of new drivers for realtek audio it's been so frequent it's annoying and again if everything works there's nothing to fix

I personally leave my Drivers and Bios alone if I'm not having problems.

Yep asus has released 3 new bios updates for x99 :/
I haven't seen any instability issues as most of the updates suggest but then again I'm not oc'ing it much if at all

I don't particularly want to change my drivers or Bios, it al works fine as far as I know and I am really happy with this little 5 years old Dell Inspiron.

When it came out it got very good write-up and it was not expensive compared to others in the same range. ( Got it at Tesco's ).

It was just that I found this thread here on seven forums, about showing your computer performance to each other and mine are really quiet low.
I cleaned it completely, took all the old stuff off, but the scores did not change one bit, so I thought must be the drivers ?
Have a lot of original once from day 1.:rolleyes and many many in my Task manager.

Can you some where see an example of a Task manager that is say random or normal ? That would be dead great to compare mine with :)

Yep little upgrades can make a little difference
Just make sure you have good ventilation and keep it clean should be all it takes to keep it running for a lot longer :)

This was my 6 almost 7 year old Acer and did a little project to it so it will at least have a chance to make it win-7's end of life in 2020 :)
    Working great lean/ mean and
Modifing old desktop machine in new case

You did very well there , sounds like a lot of work and you might as well be talking chinees to me as far as the technical details are concerned!

But mine is a laptop, so not much room to move ( Hey, that's a John Mayall song ) !!!!!

You talked about the cooling, that part I did understand. Mine gets very hot, might try to open it and see if I can clean the 5 years of dust away. I already have it on a elevated platform ( if you know what I mean ) to give more open space around the air vents.

Will have a look round in the forums and see some Y Tube video's about opening this Dell Inspiron model.
Don't want to hurt the old fellow
