    HP Color LaserJet 1600 problem

I used the Vista driver on my Win 7 machine. The printer does work, but sometimes I have to actually shut down the PC to get the page to complete printing and eject the sheet. This happens pretty much every time when printing from a networked machine. Does anyone else see this behavior?

Thanks in advance for any help :)

Fix for printer issue with HP 1600

Hi, i fixed the printer with the following solution,

    1. I downloaded the driver pack from hp.com, i tried to install the drivers with the standard installation, after a while this will fail.
    2. After the installation failed error, i went to Control Panel\Hardware and Sound\Device Manager
    3. @ my configuration the printer was located under "Other devices" (hp printer 1600)
    4. Right mouseclick "update driver software" and next Browse for driver files.
    5. go to the map: C:\Program Files (x86)\Hewlett-Packard\color LaserJet 1600 Drivers (the driver files while be standing there)
    6. press ok, the printer will no be installed properly!

It works for me for windows 7 with 64bit! let me now if you have any questions!

HP Laserjet 1600 Printer on Network

I used the HP 1600 Laserjet Driver for 32 bit Windows 7. The printer works locally on my PC however some fonts don't work properly. But the main problem is when trying to print from a Networked PC, I have to actually shut down the PC connected to the printer to get the page to complete printing and eject the sheet. This happens pretty much every time when printing from a networked machine. Does anyone else see this behavior?

I tried what Niehkind suggested by don't see my printer under 'Other Devices" as it is automatically picked up by Windows 7 on the USA port. I don't get an installation error either.

    thanks
    Sean
