    Display driver crash

This issue i'm having is with windows 10 (Not sure if there's a forum) but i was getting the same issue with windows 7 so i thought i'd try posting anyway, every say around 5-6 hours of gaming my display driver randomly says it's stopped responding and has recovered, this is pretty frustrating

In event viewer it says "Display driver amdkmdap stopped responding" and my CPU also spikes to 100 every 30 seconds or so, not sure if related

    regards,
    Dylan

    Hi Dylan,

I would try to do a full re-installation of the drivers, first I would use Revo Uninstaller to remove everything from AMD, reboot and then install the latest Crimson driver.

First here is a guide on how to use Revo:

First, download and install Revo uninstaller. It opens with all the available programs on your computer. Also at the bottom it shows the total number of programs installed in your system.

Download Revo Uninstaller Freeware - Free and Full Download - Uninstall software, remove programs, solve uninstall problems
You'll have to scroll down to the bottom where the free version is.

Now double click on any program you want to remove. Suppose I want to uninstall Google talk application from my computer. So here I will double click on Google talk icon.

It will ask you to uninstall the program. Click on Yes button.

Now select an uninstall mode. There are various modes you can choose from. The best mode is the Advanced mode which removes all the traces of the program completely.

Now another important feature of Revo uninstaller is that it creates System restore point on the computer before uninstalling the app.

    Click on Uninstall button.

Now click Next button. Revo uninstaller will check all the leftover items related to programs such as registry keys, unwanted files and folders etc. It’ll then show you the remaining traces of the program (if you chose the advanced mode) and then help you remove them.

And here is the latest Crimson driver:

    Cheers!

Hi, Voltaxic, this is a normal amdkmdap/atikmdap error.
AMD support had already submited an article to solve this problem for your windows 7 system, not for windows 10. From your detail, it compatible with the AMDKMDAG.sys error. You can follow How to troubleshoot ?Display driver stopped responding and has recovered?, ATIKMDAG.sys type errors to solve your problem.

From this article, we can see that it caused by windows vista and windows 7. And I checked some official article from AMD and Microsoft, I do not find the solutions about windows 10 on this error.
