Custom Install with notebook without drivers?

    Hi all,

I am trying to upgrade my Vista 32 bit to Windows 7 32 bit. Since my Vista is the home version and the win 7 I've purchased is professional, I have to do a custom install, which basically deletes all my programs and drivers. My notebook, however, didn't come with any drivers when I purchased it. All it asked me to do was make a recovery disk. So my question is, how do I find said drivers? I've downloaded a few off HP but do those require existing drivers or can I use those after the Win 7 installation? My main concern is my ATI Mobility Radeon 3200 and CCC.

    Thank you for your help.

Windows will automatically install drivers to get you online but I would also download all the drivers for your laptop from HP beforehand just in case you need them. Just put them on a dvd for now. If anything isn't working correctly use the appropiate updated HP driver to fix the problem.

Doesn't the clean install delete everything, including the drivers? Are you saying that Win 7 will install new drivers and I should get download the old ones just in case?

What chevy65 is saying is before you do a clean install windows 7 go to HP and download all the most current drivers available, so once you have installed 7 if their are any missing drivers you will have them readily available.Like on a USB stick on cd disc. That's all.
