    Laserjet driver


    I have an elderly (approx 3 years old) , but perfectly functioning HP Laserjet 1000. I understand that HP have not, and will not, issue a Win 7 driver update for this machine. I do not want to have to buy a new printer, when this one works brilliantly. My question is, if I install XP on a separate partition, and reinstall the Laserjet, will it work? And are there any implications in running two different operating systems on the same computer, please?

    No... you may certainly do this, but I would look for a vista driver and install it in Vista Compatibility Mode first...

    Will it work? Yes. Any problem? No Have you tried installing the XP driver for your printer in compatibility mode? (Edit) I went ot the Hp site and they don't offer a Vista driver. Compatibility Mode

I can't seem to get Windows to recognize my printer (connected from parallel to USB cable). I try to install the driver from the Windows list of printers (I had to do an update of the list), but it says that the driver is not signed, when it is clearly from Microsoft and signed. What can I do?
