No Intel(R) Adapters are present in this computer.

Hello, I've just formatted my hard drive. I installed windows 7 with the OS disk I have. I couldn't connect to the internet because I didn't have the driver for a network adapter. So I downloaded PROWin32 onto a usb stick and tried to use it, but now my laptop is telling me that I "Cannot install drivers. No Intel(R) adapters are present in this computer." I saw another thread with the same issue, but it didn't work for me so I'm hoping someone can help me. I added information below about my computer and attached a Dx diag.

msinfo - problem devices

Why did you install 32bit with 8GB RAM?

ASUS doesn't have win 7 drivers for that or 32bit, but it's right you don't have Intel Adapters.

Your ethernet is Atheros, and your wireless is Broadcom,

You can try the drivers from ASUS, they list them as 64bit though,

I tried the drivers from the link you posted. They didn't work, but it's because I have 32bit. If I go buy 64 bit would it fix my issue?

Thanks for responding!

You're welcome, you shouldn't need to buy a new key, it should be good for either 32bit or 64bit.

I would just use the key you have and install 64bit, the drivers and the full use of your RAM would be reason enough.

I can't promise it will be fixed but I'm sure we'll find something for you.

Either post this,

System Information File - Create in Windows

Or the ones listed like you did above.

Hello again, sorry for the late response! It took me a bit to get 64 bit installed. Anyway I got it installed and I'm posting the information you asked for. Thanks again for the help! This has been a real pain.

OK, let's start with this one,

Chipset_Intel_Win7_8_VER9401016.zip

That is the chipset.

This is your Ethernet controller,

LAN_Atheros_Win8_64_VER21017.zip

This is going to start downloading as soon as you click on it, it's the Intel Management Engine,

http://dlcdnet.asus.com/pub/ASUS/nb/...922.1458268853

This is the wireless from ASUS, I can't tell if it will work on Win 7 so you'll just have to try it,

http://dlcdnet.asus.com/pub/ASUS/nb/...922.1458268853

This is your USB 3.0 driver,

https://downloadcenter.intel.com/dow...Chipset-Family

This is the Bluetooth driver,

http://dlcdnet.asus.com/pub/ASUS/nb/...922.1458268853

Hopefully you have access to Ethernet (Wired Internet), that will make this a lot easier, let's start with those in that order and let me know how it goes.

After installing those upload a new report so I can see what else might be needed.

I installed what I could. Some of the drivers gave me errors. The Chipset gave me a bunch of errors when I installed it and then it worked(?). And the WLAN gave me an error saying that it's the wrong OS. I've attached the system information after I installed everything I could.

Did you restart after installing those? The list is showing the same exact ones as before.

I wasn't sure about the WLAN anyway, most of the others are compatible with Win 7 though.

Can you try a restart and just see if the Ethernet driver installs, that will be a big help.

Try this driver for the wireless,

Dell Wireless 1550 WiFi / Bluetooth Driver Driver Details | Dell US

It's from Dell, but we have to get creative and the chip numbers match so in theory it should work.

My laptop restarted after each of the installs, but there were a few errors so I'm assuming that's what the problem was. I tried the dell chip set as well, but it didn't allow me to even start the installation. So I copied and pasted the error messages into a txt file.
