yeah its got a panel something like that l can mess with effects on, however the biggest annoyance is the fact that support documentation from 2011 shows you how to change the program language which would be great if the settings/effects panels looked remotely the same, so my guess is the support is more out dated than the software is.

tho there is one area that is in english, namely the Creative Audio Control Panel.. it looks like things might all hook into this area but l was hoping to find more information on all the options before l really play around.

Ok good luck as myself I would just opt for an easy solution - I will ask fireberd but guessing he might not get to the bottom of the language thing.

I have no idea how to change the language. Many web sites key on location or have a selection on the web site for location or language. Also, some have an option in the installer for the language you want.

Are you downloading from the site for US customers? I accessed the Creative Worldwide Support site and it shows as "United States of America" on the page for me.

thats the thing tho, the language selection according to Creative is supposed to be what l screen capped earlier, but like lve said here and to Creative is that the only thing the so called language option changes is what language the EULA is in, nothing else changes, hell l tried my laptop as well, made sure the locale was english etc still installs in japanese on a clean system (well clean as in this specific piece of hardware had not been installed on it before).

So I am guessing that Creative - rather an unfortunate name eh? have not responded to your contact?? Unfortunately I think you may have maybe picked the wrong sound system Timeless and I don't know quite what to adviise you to do apart form getting something else because this a is a lot of grief and they if they have your concerns do not seem to concerned about helping you out.

lve used their cards for quite a long time.. but its only recently lve had interest in playing with the software.. l cant knock the sound its definitely better on my new card.. just frustratingly annoying that lm having an issue with the software, tho before the cards l always had some form of audiology sound card in my system up till one of my old systems decided to pack up on me.. no idea why but the SLI clapped out on me and it didnt have on board VGA/DVI not to mention the sound card was dead so something pretty funky must have happened.

that said l might have looked into something different if the price was right but l had limited funds to play with.. l did look for the recommended ASUS card but it was either some no name brand card or Creative and to be honest, outside the whole software annoyance their hardware isnt that bad to be honest from my current experiences.

just an update, still conversing with Creative over the issue.. they have pretty much gone through everything they can think of.. which was two different suggestions over several emails.. the third suggestion was to reinstall my OS.... heh, surely companies realise that the locale isnt always used for language selection but for support for other programs that dont work under an english set locale.. yet unlike the majority of programs it seems its kinda stupid not to include the ability to switch language.

Yes I know mate and it is typical of support these days mostly convoluted and time consuming not to mention irritating. A reinstall is the easy way out and they darn well know that and pretty weak in my mind

The language issue well I agree with you that it should not even be an issue not these days when the tech is sophisticated

It has certainly put me off ever contemplating Creative stuff anyway if nothing else and I shall be sticking with my Xonar set up. .

Yes mate but by the same token something that has two components to give a certain function is no good unless the two components are as good as each other. You could compare it to a Rolls Royce car that is beautiful to drive except that the tyres keep going flat through some design fault

But I hold my hand up to being a bit of an audiophile and that is why I stick with something that has never let me down.
