    usually l said that about Creative, mainly because l never really needed extra features until CCCP shipped with LAV codecs rather than FFDshow which is not as good as it used to be.

    Hmm Timeless mate you have me there I don't take much notice of codecs or WAV or WOV or WIV LOL!! I just rely on my hearing when it comes to audio especially music.

    For example I like to hear the differences between Gibson and Fender guitars simply because one has a more mellow sound than the other and again simply because a lot of that has to do with how they wind the pick up cores on those instruments so it follows that you like Creative over other stuff for reasons that any sound system is governed by the (usually) electronics built into them and you find the Creative system to your liking

    * End of rant/lecture

    for me l dont watch TV, my PC is my entertainment... granted l do use a Roku box over summer and tend to be offline on my PC more but its nice being able to make full use of my 5.1 speakers, and for that l need to mess around with codecs sometimes to get the damn audio to my liking lol.

    Yes well I am a bit like you I only like the documentaries and news plus some comedy like the Montreal and Melbourne Comedy shows)on the TV mind you I do like the cricket when the Aussies play us (I am an ex pat Englishman - Sussex)

    Otherwise I am on one of my machines as I do like playing around with the two systems 7 & 10. But there again I have a few machines to play with 3 deskies and 3 laptops and in the process of getting stuff together for building a Skylake desktop. Plus I do a few repairs and refurbs and system fixes for friends and neighbours and get a real kick out of that:)

    Yep me too not so long ago my Ivy Bridge dropped it's USB ports and try as I may I couldn't fix it until I think it was Indianatone or Thrash Zone put me onto that it was an issue with the Samsung Magician software - uninstalled it (overrated stuff anyway) and back came the USB ports - would never have thought of it in a million years.

    Fixes I do for friends and work colleagues I do for free as usually they don't earn or have that much money and I get a real buzz out of doing it.

    Please dump the habit Timeless I am an RN by profession and I can only forewarn you of some horrible and unspeakable consequences of that habit that will come later on in life.

    As for the take away yep I am guilty and frozen dinners are a usual for me too - can't be bothered cooking for myself unless it is something very simple.

    not so easy to do when you live in a house full of smokers.. l did manage to quit for over a year, then we moved into a small flat and when things went down the pan it was like l never quit..

    besides the way things are looking these days l'll be lucky to make it to later life lol..

    Sorry late reply but have been sick for a while - some of it due to my heavy smoking in my younger years - a third of my left lung is now useless.

    But I do know what you mean by living with smoking when there are others all around you. But even though I say so myself I have the willpower to stick to my guns when it comes to that sort of stuff so I found it easy to give up.

    How come you won't make it to old age anyway? mind you working in my profession living to old age is no fun either.
